Doll Biographies

I've noticed over the last couple of years how people on the doll boards have very definite ideas about who their dolls are.  My friend Mary and I were discussing it and she challenged me to write back stories for some of my favorite dolls, since they have definite personalities to me.  I will try, over the next month or so, to add some history for my favorites so you can get to know them, too.

I'm going to begin with Alyssia Agathe Mukabutera.  She was born in Rwanda from which she fled during the Hutu uprising in which both of her parents were killed.  She was only a girl at the time, but was taken in by a missionary couple who helped get her asylum in the U.S.  Because of her extraordinary talent for dance, which she has studied since childhood, she was accepted in the Alvin Ailey dance company where she is expected to do great things.
She is incredibly flexible and a joy to photograph.

This is Genevieve.  She was born in France, the daughter of an American artist who married a young French business man.  Her parent's passion lasted through two children before their differences caught up with them.  Though still attracted to one another, they separated and Genevieve's mother brought her, and her sister Claire, back to the U.S.  Genevieve misses France terribly, and flies to France to see her father as often as she can (which means as often as he pays for it.)
