TEENY TREASURES
I have a lot of little things I have bought in 1:6 scale over the years, that can never really be seen well in the dioramas, so I decided to try doing a series of close ups to share these with the visitors to my website. Some are vintage. Some are OOAK. Some are just personal favorites. Hope you enjoy them!
Momoko's newest pet- a ferret!!
This little antique mirror is a real favorite of mine. I bought it at antique shop for ten dollars. It, as well as the foo dogs below, can be seen in the Antique Booth in the Gallery section. The foo dogs are only about 3 1/2 inches high. In the picture they came out looking slightly different colors for some reason, but they aren't.
These little nesting dolls come from Russia. They were in the Christmas display I did for my local library and one of the little dolls kept falling over. The tiny elf is a vintage piece made by the same German company that originally made Snow Babies. When an antique dealer friend told me how much it was worth, my jaw dropped. I have a number of vintage pieces in my collection and have been surprised more than once by how much they are worth when I only payed 25 or 50 cents for them.
This vase I bought for $2.00 at an antique store. Whoever did the hand painting on it has my undying admiration!
I bought the little ornaments in a bag of stuff from a thrift store for 25 cents. I really just wanted the tiny suction cups, not knowing what they were attached to. When I saw the tiny figurines, I kept them. I threw away everything else in the bag. I love the way the legs on the little figurines are attached so that the swing back and forth. I have two more not pictured
